The Bachelor Australia intruder Jamie-Lee had just one single date – and appeared in only five episodes – with our Honey Badgelor, but that was enough for her to know her ‘relationship’ with Nick Cummins wasn’t meant to be.
“We had a lot in common but I just don’t think we were meant to be. And that’s okay, that’s the outcome of dating right? You’re either meant to be with someone or you’re not” she says of her connection, or lack thereof, with Nick.
Jamie-Lee admits her single date with Nick was less than ideal, and says the pressure of forming a connection as an intruder was partly to blame.
“On my single date I think it was definitely a little bit awkward and I wasn’t able to kind of open up and be my usual self,” she tells TV WEEK.
“I felt a lot of pressure because I knew I was going home if Nick and I didn’t get the chance to work on that connection and see if there was something between us.”
Jamie-Lee, 27, says she ‘doesn’t know’ if the outcome would have been different had she entered the mansion at the start of the series, rather than as an intruder.
“Maybe I just don’t deal well in situations like that,” she says. “It was disappointing but there are other girls who have incredible connections with Nick and maybe I just don’t… and that’s the way the cookie crumbles.”
She adds, “I don’t know if I can fall in love in a situation like that. I guess this is my first chance at trying.”
Though she was disappointed to leave the mansion a single lady, Jamie-Lee says it was a positive experience.
“There are so many positives out of the situation and there’s just one negative, that I didn’t find love,” she says.
“It wasn’t right for me, but it’s definitely right for one of the girls in there.”
The Bachelor Australia continues Thursday, 7:30pm, on Network Ten.
