The silly season is in full swing, and understandably, some of our favourite Bachelor stars are in full planning mode.
Of course. it must be noted that this Christmas is going to be a particularly special for some – and it’s all to do with some exciting additions and updates for the Bachie lovebirds.
Here, OK! speaks to some of our favourite reailty TV couples about their plans for December 25 – and refreshingly, it’s not all about gifts!
Matty J & Laura Byrne
They fell in love on national TV and now, two years on, The Bachelor‘s Matty J and Laura Byrne will be celebrating their first Christmas – both as an engaged couple and as parents!
And thanks to the arrival of a very special gift, their gorgeous five-month-old daughter Marlie-Mae, jewellery designer Laura, 33, tells OK! she and Matty have really embraced the festive season this time round.
OK!: Have you made any special Christmas plans this year?
Laura: For the first time ever we’ve got a family Christmas tree! I think Marlie-Mae is too young to appreciate it, which is a good thing because it’s pretty daggy with all its ’90s-inspired tinsel! Even the dog [Buster] is giving it a wide berth.
Do you and Matty give each other presents?
Yeah, but Matt drops hints and he is really subtle. He’s like, “Babe, buy me an iPad for Christmas please?”
We hear you made your own family Christmas cards?
It’s so dorky and awkward and everything that a jubilant family Christmas card should be. We used Vistaprint to create it, and it was super-easy, too.
Do you and Matty have any unique Christmas traditions?
Every year we eat Christmas lunch wearing the party hats out of our Christmas crackers, and we tell each other the terrible jokes from the crackers.
I think our families are pretty normal when it comes to celebrating Christmas, though.
Georgia Love and Lee Elliot
Don’t expect to see Georgia Love preparing a turkey and slaving over a hot stove this Christmas.
She reveals to OK! she’s not the best cook, but has another – very important! – job come Christmas Day.
“I’m usually left to organise the alcohol,” she admits.
For Georgia, 31, and her fiancé Lee Elliott, 38 – who fell in love during the 2016 season of The Bachelorette – the festive season starts on December 1, when the tree goes up, the home is decorated with lights and the Christmas-scented candle is lit.
“I’m a bit of a Christmas freak!’ she admits. She even explains she has “three different pairs of festive pyjamas”.
Lucky Lee!
Sam and Snezana Wood
They might be known as one of the fittest couples in Australia, but Sam, 39, and Snezana Wood, 38, definitely let their hair down during the festive period.
This year the family of five – which includes Eve, 14, Willow, two, and Charlie, four months – will be jetting off to Perth to see Snez’s family.
“It’s Charlie’s first Christmas, so it’s a special one this year!” says Snez.
And the busy mum tells OK! their Christmas Day always involves quality family time!
“It’s all about food, family, backyard slip ‘n slides, a sprinkler and the beach.”
