We’ve been waiting from the moment Channel 10 announced this year’s Bachelor would be 31-year-old airline pilot Jimmy Nicholson for the first promo, and now, it’s here.

In the first clip we see Jimmy on his way to work, strolling through the airport in his shmick pilots get up, suitcase in tow.

As he walks along escalators and past security he watches as couples are reunited in dramatic scenes strikingly similar to the ending of Love Actually.

Hitting the tarmac, he’s greeted by Osher handed a bouquet of roses and told to “fasten your seat beat Jimmy, you’re in for the ride of you life.”

Jimmy takes off, presumably to the Bachelor mansion or in search of The One, and that is that.

The clip, which was posted to the official Bachelor Australia Instagram page was immediately flooded with comments from fans are former Bachie stars.

“SO GOOOOOD!!!” Alisha Aitken-Radburn wrote before Bec Vilikas added: “This is SO GOOD 👏🏼.”

Pascal Wallace felt a little differently calling it “corny” before deleting his comment, a sentiment that was echoed by some fans.

“Why is this so dramatic?” one asked before another wrote: “Jesus! I think they ordered cheese with this ad! A lot of it!”

The Sydney-based airline pilot was stood down from his job last year thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Time off work freed up time to be spent looking for love.

The unexpected and forced downtime made him reassess what he wanted out of life, and ultimately say yes to The Bachelor.

“I feel very fortunate to be the Bachelor 2021. I am ready to open up my heart and meet someone,” he told The Daily Telegraph.

“I hope to meet someone with similar values that I can have fun with and that shares the same zest for life as myself. The Bachelor franchise has produced many success stories and I hope to be the next.”
