As far as first impressions go, Bella Varelis has clearly made her mark on this year’s Bachelor star Locky Gilbert.
The former Survivor star was completely love struck as he was heard saying: “Oh wow” to himself as Bella walked towards him.
Dressed in a stunning gold gown with her brunette locks hanging loose, Bella greeted her handsome suitor who commented: “Sorry I just got lost in your eyes.”
Bella then gifted Locky with a heart pin and placed it on his sleeve so that he “can always remember to wear [his] heart on [his] sleeve.”
We’re expecting big things between these two as Locky added: “It felt very right with Bella.”
While we don’t know too much about Bella just yet, there are a few clues floating around about the rumoured frontrunner.
The 25-year-old beauty is based in NSW and works as a freelance creative thanks to her background in digital marketing.
According to her LinkedIn profile, Bella boasts an associates degree in marketing and communications and a diploma in fashion business and worked as a buyer for Her Fashion Box, before pursuing a career in social media marketing.
When opening up in her Insta bio, she shared the mantra “less is more” – perhaps a link to her background in fashion?
The reality TV star’s Instagram account documents her glamorous lifestyle – from European holidays to A-list Sydney parties, Bella is clearly a popular socialite.
This week, the natural beauty broke her silence on her upcoming television appearance posting a photo of her Bachelor headshot and musing: “So I did a thing… Goodness me 🤭 still pinching myself! @thebachelorau starts Wednesday 7.30pm on Channel 10 ♥️📌 #thebachelorau.”
In fact, according to Woman’s Day Bella and Locky made contact in the outside world before meeting on the show.
“They have mutual friends and spoke before the show. There was chatter he promised her she’d be top two,” a source explained.
In a previous trailer, Locky admitted that he’s ready to settle down and make the ultimate commitment.
“Being in love is the best feeling in the world, it takes your breath away,” he mused.
“I’m here to find love. I would love to get down on one knee at the end,” Locky said, adding: “I’m the kind of guy that would do it.”
The last time an Australian Bachelor proposed was when Blake Garvey dropped a knee to Sam Frost in season two.
Meanwhile, Sam Cochrane got down on one knee to Tara Pavlovic during the first Bachelor in Paradise finale. So begs the question, could Locky pop the question to Bella?
