When 28-year-old Chelsie McLeod stepped out of the limo in the first episode of The Bachelor, you didn’t need to be a rocket scientist to see there was something between her and Matt Agnew.

Indeed, the chemical engineer instantly became a front-runner when she boldly applied a temporary tattoo of the chemical compound oxytocin, the love hormone to Matt’s chest and the two bonded over their nerdy love of science.

Since their first encounter on the red carpet, the two have gone from strength to strength with many fans of the show firmly believing that Chelsie will be this year’s winner.

“There is no doubt that we have phenomenal chemistry,” Matt said on their first date. “But you do not need a PhD to see that.”

Following hometown dates, Chelsie along with Abbie Chatfield and Helena Sauzier made it to the final three and the chemical engineer has admitted that it’s “hard to find the words to describe” how she feels at this stage.

“After seeing Matt in hometowns with my family, it makes it even clearer that I can picture a life with him,” she said in a statement on the official Bachelor Instagram.

“It’s exciting and terrifying all at the same time because there is a real possibility that I could get my heart broken at the end of this. What a crazy and rewarding journey it has been so far. Regardless of the outcome, I have learnt so much about myself and am eternally grateful for the experience.”
