Two-time Survivor star Moana Hope has slammed the male contestants on Survivor: Blood V Water for creating a “boys’ club” environment.
The mother-of-one, who competed on Survivor: Champions vs Contenders and All Stars, accused the men of ganging up on the women on the show this year.
“These guys are just picking the women off one by one. Can’t wait for them to turn on each other,” the AFLW player wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of several male contestants plotting their next move.
Moana then shared a response from a fan, who said host Jonathan LaPaglia needed to hold the men accountable.
“JLP needs to mention the blatant sexism and call this “boys’ club” out. Constantly referring to women as weak is unacceptable,” Moana’s follower wrote.
Moana agreed but heaped praise on the Survivor host, responding: “I’m sure JLP would have said something. He is a good guy.”
Moana, who is currently pregnant with her second child, also concurred with another follower who said they were “sick of” the sexism on the show.
“Definitely the worst part about the show right now, otherwise such a good season,” the fan wrote, with Moana responding with a “100 per cent” emoji.
Viewers have been vocal in calling out the “boys’ club” forming on the current season of Australian Survivor, specifically within the red tribe.
Jordie Hansen came under fire after making a problematic comment recently when referring to his old teammates in the blue team.
“Blue strong, male strong,” he told the cameras, before later describing co-star Amy Ong as “little and really weak”.
Other viewers also aired their frustrations with the growing dynamic, with one writing on Twitter: “The actual audacity of this bland as f–k mens alliance smh.”
