Luke Toki may not have won this year’s season of Australian Survivor: Champions Versus Contenders, but he won the nation over with his cheeky antics and devotion to his young family.
The 33-year-old father-of-three made headlines shortly after his elimination when fans of the show matched the $500,000 prize money he lost out on, via a GoFundMe page.
And now, we know exactly what Luke’s done with the cash.
Rather than blowing the money on an extravagant holiday, Luke has put the money towards something a little more longterm.
“I’m a homeowner now, I’m a 33-year-old home owner,” he revealed to Perth Now adding, “It’s definitely put us in a crazy new direction of where we thought we were going in life.”
The reality star also revealed that he’s still working his regular job at a Perth transport company, but that he also used the money to help out the less fortunate.
“I was able to donate to Telethon and to a lady who has cancer at a garage sale, donated $10,000 to Perth Children’s Hospital, to cystic fibrosis, I’ve still got money to donate and I’m adding to that,” he told the publication.
Luke’s decision to donate to the Perth Children’s Hospital holds personal significance, as his youngest child and only daughter Madeline was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at six-weeks-old, right before he went to film Survivor in Fiji.
And according to the proud dad, his little one is “cute as” and doctors say they’re “super surprised how well she’s going.”
“The main thing is she’s putting on weight. I actually put it down to how well we have maintained her medicines. I really think as parents we have taken on whatever the doctors have said,” he added.
The GoFundMe page was set up by Survivor superfan Dave Skow on the Monday night after Luke’s elimination.
By 3:10pm on the Wednesday, it had surpassed the $500,000 milestone thanks to an anonymous donation of $10,000.
“It’s crazy,” Luke confessed at the time to TV WEEK.
“Like, has this ever happened with any other reality TV contestant? It’s overwhelming.”

Lennox was diagnosed with autism at the age of three, and Nate with diagnosed with a condition called Global Developmental Delay (GDD).
”Being a father to me means everything,” Luke revealed on the show.
“I haven’t succeeded in sport or whatever but my boys, daughter and wife that’s obviously what I treasure the most.”
