Australian Survivor contestants Mark Wales and Samantha Gash didn’t walk away with the $500,000 prize money, but they did walk away madly in love.
The couple, who appeared on the show in 2017, have just announced their engagement! The happy news comes after they welcomed their son, Harry, in 2018.
Samantha shared a beautiful post announcing their engagement, which happened on the 7th of January, even thanking the hit reality show for bringing them together.
“With my dream man on our favourite beach with no one around – surrounded by single trails & granite rocks.. A big YES to doing life with YOU in our own special way!” she wrote in the caption.
“I knew very quickly you were my person & the man I wanted to share my life with. Neither of us are settlers, we always want to make the most out of our days & nights, we complement each other & I love sharing ideas and dreams with you. Most importantly I love you in a way I have never experienced. You are the bravest man I know & I respect you so much. Thank you for choosing me!!
“Extreme happiness doesn’t even come close to describing how I feel!!! Thank you @survivorau 😉”
And if your thought Samantha’s gushing caption was too cute to handle, just wait until you read what Mark had to say.
Also taking to Instagram to share the happy news, Mark called his new fiancée “the love of his life.”
“Sam was the first person I met when I walked onto the set of a reality TV show,” he wrote. “We sat on fruit crates shivering in torrential rain for a full night while we waited for the show to kick off. Small in stature, I believed she may be a work experience hand with the production agency. I later found out she was smart, sexy and tough – and lucky for me she needed some warmth on that cold island. Little did I know I had met my match, and the love of my life…”
“Samantha you are a gentle, caring, happy soul and you have made me a much, much better person. I know you can weather any storm, and smile the whole way. I look forward to a long, happy, chaotic life with you – it’s going to be a blast
“I love you tons and can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you and our little man, Harry.”
Congratulations to the happy couple – we can’t wait to see the wedding photos!
