Reality TV fans know him as the charismatic Bachelor who survived two seasons of Australian Survivor, but it seems we will get to see a very different side of Locky Gilbert on the upcoming season of SAS Australia.
In an explosive sneak peek for season three, Locky was seen being called “cocky” by DS Ant Middleton, and was on the verge of a physical altercation with Housos star and comedian Pauly Fenech.
“I’ve survived an island and a pack of girls,” the 33-year-old told the camera. “This is my fourth TV show, how hard can this be?”
“I’m an egotistical, fame junkie. That selfishness has gotten me here.”
Ant was then seen yelling in Locky’s face, telling him he’s too cocky: “This isn’t a reality show, you understand me?”
Describing himself as a “tough alpha male”, Locky butted heads with Pauly.
During a car ride back to base camp, the pair had a heated exchange, with a visibly angry Locky telling the Fat Pizza star: “Oh my god Paulie, you’re a liability. I don’t trust you.”
Locky and Paulie’s hostility then nearly turned violent while they waited on the sidelines of a challenge.
“Call me that again and I’ll smash you in the face,” Paulie yelled, to which Locky responded: “Do it man, do it.”
Paulie then accused the former Bachelor of being “a TV actor,” prompting Locky to hit back with: “Do you know what you do mate?”
Locky reportedly took training for SAS Australia very seriously, with his social media showing many a video of him sweating it out in order to prepare for the show.
One video has him doing squats with girlfriend Irena Srbinovska on his shoulders, while Irena has also posted about her pride in Locky’s dedication.
“Over the last few months I have seen you work harder than I have ever seen work their body. You have also eaten more food than I have ever seen anyone consume,” she joked on Instagram in October, right before Locky went off to film the series.
“I am so proud of you, good luck babe @locklangilbert no matter how far you go I am proud but I know you can make it to the end!”
“You are truly dedicated to this … good luck my love,” she finished.
