The Super Switch is set to air on Channel Seven in 2019, with the re-vamped Seven Year Switch changing things up in a new format.

The “controversial experiment” will introduce viewers to six new couples, whose relationships are in dire trouble. To find out if they’re really with “the one” these participants will switch partners.

Each participant will be paired with a like-minded stranger who reflects their own behaviours, prompting them to question their relationship and its problems.

The “experiment” – we’ve heard that word somewhere in reality TV land before? – will divide the participants, with three couples living in two separate houses. They will be guided by couples therapist Guy Vicars and psychologist Jacqui Manning.

At the end of the experiment, these couples will reunite with their real partner, before deciding if they want to stay together or go their separate ways.

If the trailer is anything to go by, things are going to get heated when the couples are grouped together – and we can’t wait to see what happens!

BEN & CHRISTIE

BEN & CHRISTIE

Yes, you may recognise Ben as he was previously a contestant on Georgia Love’s season of The Bachelorette. After failing to find love on Bachie, he’s since met and fallen for Christie.

Ben, a 35-year-old coal miner and property developer, and Christie, a 28-year-old project manager, have been dating for one year.

The Wollongong couple don’t live together and struggle to find one-on-one time. Christie is ready to take the next step and share a home, but Ben isn’t sure he’s ready and admits he has “pulled back a little bit”.

If they’re not going to move forward, Christie is ready to walk away.

JUSTIN & NEESHA

JUSTIN & NEESHA

Justin, 29, and Neesha, 22, have been together for a year-and-a-half after first meeting at a football function. Though the Melbourne-based couple are madly in love, they’re not kicking goals in the communication department.

Their seven year age gap is proving complicated, as Justin would like to start a family in the near future.

However, Neesha is more focussed on her successful eyelash extension business for the moment.

But, despite wanting to have her babies, Justin does claim that Neesha is too “needy and “clingy” and says he struggles with the lack of space. Confused? So is Neesha, it would seem.

Can this pair work it out – whatever ‘it’ is?

KENDRICK & ROMINA

KENDRICK & ROMINA

Latin dance instructors Kendrick, 33, and Romina, 34, have been in a relationship for three years.

Though their love of dance brought them together, it’s also created their biggest obstacle as they live together and run a Latin dance studio.

“It’s been extremely hard to separate our personal relationship from our business relationship,” Romina admits.

Will this dancing duo find a way to work things out?

LACHLAN & MIRANDA

LACHLAN & MIRANDA

They may look like the perfect couple, but Miranda claims she is struggling with Lachlan’s possessive nature. Meanwhile, he thinks his girlfriend is naïve and that her behaviour attracts attention from other men.

Lachlan, 27, hopes to marry soon, but Miranda, 24, isn’t yet sure.

MARCUS & AIMEE

MARCUS & AIMEE

Like Ross and Rachel from Friends, these two have been on-again and off-again over the course of their 12 month relationship. Marcus is described as a man-child, while Aimee is apparently ‘inflexible.’

As a mum of two boys, Aimee wants an equal partner who she can rely on.

“Marcus being immature at times and joking around does make it feel like I have a

third child,” Aimee says.

Can he grow up in the experiment?

TYLER & OLGA

TYLER & OLGA

It was love at first sight for this Canadian duo, but six years together and one major move to Australia and things are rockier than the engaged duo.

Tyler claims that Olga’s jealousy pushes him away, while Olga claims Tyler cares more about his work than their relationship.

Not only that, they also disagree on two major points: where they’ll settle down, and when they’ll have children. Tyler wants to remain in Australia and is keen to have kids soon, while Olga is homesick and hopes to return to Canada, and would prefer to wait to have children.
