A new beauty from Beauty and The Geek addresses her shock drink driving scandal

Beauty And The Geek 2022 has been hit by its first major scandal and the new season hasn’t even started yet.

One of the 2022 beauties has been forced to address a drink driving arrest from 2021 after details of the arrest were made public.

Flight attendant Emily McCarthy, 25, was pulled over on November 7 after leaving a local pub in the Sutherland Shire.

Emily was arrested for drink driving in late 2021.

The St George Shire Standard reported that officers in a marked police car spotted McCarthy’s car make a sudden turn off a main road where a stationary police car with flashing red and blue lights was visible.

The marked car, which was behind her vehicle at the time, followed and pulled her over for a roadside breath test.

“The accused stated she had recently finished an alcoholic beverage at the Gymea Hotel 20 minutes prior to being stopped by police,” police state.

An initial breath test returned a result of 0.210, which is more than four times over the legal limit.

Emily addressed the arrest in a recent statement.

McCarthy was arrested and taken to Kogarah police station, where a breath analysis returned a result of 0.168 over an hour after she was first pulled over.

The flight attendant was charged with high range drink driving and her license suspended immediately, with a court later fining her $500 after she pleaded guilty to the offense.

McCarthy was disqualified from driving for a further six months and will have to drive on an interlock license for two years, meaning her car won’t start unless she blows a zero blood alcohol limit.

Addressing the arrest and subsequent court proceedings, McCarthy said through a Nine publicist: “I deeply regret my decision and take full responsibility for my actions.

“I accepted the court outcome and this has been a huge learning for me and something I will never do again.”

This is the first time in recent years that Beauty And The Geek has dealt with such a scandal.

Last year multiple Geeks were forced to deny rumours hey were actors who had let their hair and beards grow and faked nerdy interests to be on the show.
