My Kitchen Rules returns in 2019, with celebrated judges Manu Feildel and Pete Evans on board for the show’s exciting 10th anniversary season.

A new group of food-loving hopefuls will put on their MKR aprons, attempting to wow the judges with their own unique instant restaurants and delicious menus in the first rounds of the reality cooking show.

Who are your food inspirations?

Chris: Gordon Ramsay – I love it when

he cooks without recipes. And Silvia Colloca. She’s adorable.

Lesley: Luke Nguyen, Stephanie Alexander and Neil Perry. Neil’s The Food I Love is a sharing book. He gives

away his secrets more than others, who don’t tell you the whole story.

Clue to their kitchen: Chris plans to showcase his Italian heritage cuisine.

Why did you enter the competition?

Andy: We want to put Peru on the map in Australia.

Ruby: I’ve been watching MKR for a long time and it was my idea to apply, because we noticed there haven’t been any Latin teams in the competition.

Clues to their kitchen: While Andy says she’s “fiery”, she describes Ruby as “so chilled”.

Ibby: We enjoy other people’s company and can always have a laugh.

Romel: But I also have absolutely no problem in confronting heated situations that may arise at the table. I never shy away from confrontation.

When did you begin cooking?

Karito: Aged eight. My grandma taught me, and I picked up some tips from different friends in different countries.

Ian: Age 10 – and mostly baking. I started to cook when I moved out of home at 18.

Have you ever had a brush with fame before?

Mick: Up until this point in my life, I haven’t been anywhere near “fame”.

Jodie-Anne: I was on Ready Steady Cook in 2009; and I was on 60 Minutes when I was about eight years old.

Clues to their kitchen: Mick first started cooking 17 years ago, when he met Jodie-Anne.

John: Big meals, punchy flavours. We really do want everyone to feel like my house is your house.

Lisa: I want to put the party back into dinner party and give our guests some quality home cooking.

How would you describe your food?

G: Our cooking is based on our heritage, but we want to be experimental. My food culture is Malaysian, Indian, Chinese.

Victor: I’ve got a Malaysian Indian mum, but I grew up in Switzerland. You put it all together and you get Eurasian.

How would you describe your teammate?

Bianca: Pat is my brother’s best friend and the bane of my existence. It’s not like we’re going to lose a friend at the end of this because we’re not friends to begin with.

Pat: I would describe Bianca as cold, even a little bit aggressive. Like a smell that doesn’t

go away.

Are you ready to compete with a stranger?

Milly: I asked my mum, my sister, my 90-year-old grandma, my ex-boyfriend… I couldn’t find anyone. So I’m super excited to begin this competition.

Karolina: It’s not an easy feat what we’re doing. But I’m gonna win.

Clue to their kitchen: The ladies both love savoury dishes, but only time will tell how their cooking styles and skillsets match up in the kitchen.

Luke: We’re here to prove that your everyday, down-to-earth Aussie blokes can cook some absolutely amazing food

How will you fare under the pressure of MKR?

Piper: I’m actually looking forward to the pressure because Veronica and I are extremely busy women. We compete in businesses, we compete in pageants and the reason we succeed is because we have confidence and we really believe in ourselves.

Veronica: We have super busy lives, but we love cooking.

Clue to their kitchen: While Piper is a fan of savoury dishes like Spaghetti Bolognese, Veronica is a whiz at desserts.
