When My Kitchen Rules champions Dan and Steph Mulheron return to the showโs 2020 season next month, fans will be forgiven for not recognising the married couple who took home $250,000 in 2013.
Indeed, much has changed for the duo since they last appeared on screen.
Not only did the MKR stars use their prize money to assist with IVF treatments that saw the birth of their daughter Emmy Mae in 2016, Dan has lost a monster 85kg!

(Image: Channel Seven)Now, almost two years on from his life-changing decision to get a gastric sleeve, the father-of-one, 38, reveals he hopes to change the stigma around the procedure.
โThereโs a lot of negative stigma around weight-loss surgery, a lot of people who havenโt had weight problems see it as a cop out,โ says Dan, who maintains that the decision was by no means easy.

Dan weighed 155 kg at his heaviest.

It took years of contemplation before Dan decided to go through with the surgery, with the reality star admitting if he hadnโt waited for the right time heโd have put the weight back on.โ

(Source:Instagram)โThe decision to do that is huge โ you have to want to change and thereโs definitely nothing to hide,โ says proud Steph, 37, who co-runs the coupleโs restaurant in Hervey Bay in Queensland and has also undergone her own weight-loss transformation.
โIโve got a new lease of life,โ Dan reveals.
โBefore, Emmy was always, โDaddy, letโs jump on the trampoline!โ and Iโd have no enthusiasm or energy for her. Now, sheโs like, โOh, Iโve had enough Daddy.โ I run her ragged!โ
