Rumours have been circulating about an X-rated scandal involving Cam and Tayla – and in Married at First Sight this week, the truth is set to come out.
The drama goes down at the reunion dinner party, where Cam’s wife Lyndall and Hugo’s wife Tayla have words.
”There were some really hard conversations with Tayla – ones I wasn’t particularly comfortable with,” Lyndall, 27, reveals to TV WEEK.
Viewers would have seen Tayla was attracted to Cam when she first met him during the relationship experiment.
But Lyndall wasn’t aware of that at the time.
”A lot of what I’m seeing about them even being friends I was oblivious to until it came out,” she adds.
That’s not the only drama at the reunion dinner party. Alyssa, still coming to terms with what happened at her final vows with Duncan, gets stuck into him.
”It’s hard with Alyssa and Duncan, because I love them both so much,” Lyndall says.
”I’m very close with Duncan, but also with Alyssa. Honestly, the whole thing was like, ‘I just wanted Mum and Dad to stop fighting and run off into the sunset together.”
For Lyndall, who has cystic fibrosis, the relationship started promisingly, with the ”most incredible” wedding day. But cracks started to appear around the time Cam’s mother paid them a visit and suggested Lyndall was ”insecure” for wanting Cam to be more affectionate.
“I felt he automatically was like, ‘Yep, she’s insecure and I can just throw that into the too-hard basket,”’ she says.
Lyndall explains that things changed between them as the experiment progressed.
”On our honeymoon, we were – not to be gross – all over each other. Everything seemed really natural, and then it was this sudden thing of, ‘I’m not affectionate at all,’ and I’m like, ‘What?”’
Lyndall believed the relationship problems were due to carpenter Cam being away from his home in the Northern Territory. But when she went to Darwin with him and the problems continued, she says she was ”shattered.”
”I was pretty disappointed, because I was like, ‘Oh, I really thought this was going to be
the thing that fixed it all.”
Despite everything, Lyndall doesn’t wish she’d been paired with a different groom on the show.
”I was really happy that the experts put us together,” she says.
”I think we were well matched. There was never really a question of, ‘Oh, would I have preferred somebody else?’ I went in with a one-track mind: my husband’s my husband and that’s all I wanted.”
”It never happened:” Lyndall responds to THOSE rumours
Lyndall has had some wild rumours going around about her in recent weeks on Married At First Sight, including that she’s hooked up Melissa’s husband Josh and Tayla’s husband Hugo.
”It doesn’t really bother me,” she tells TV WEEK.
”A lot of it is wildly inaccurate. And even if that did happen – which it didn’t – a person’s romantic/sexual endeavours are a very outdated way of judging someone.”
Lyndall says Hugo is ”a good friend,” and she’s talked to him about the rumours.
”We were like, ‘Oh, apparently we hooked up – that’s hilarious!’ Then he was like, ‘Well, I’m not going to correct anyone.’ And I was like, ‘Fine by me!’ It’s quite funny, at the end of the day.”
