It’s clear things have become all too much for Mick, who wrote “leave” for the second time in two weeks during a commitment ceremony that saw the usually stoic groom fighting back tears.
The other participants were also visibly shocked when Mick’s wife Jessika – who’s made it known that she’s attracted to new groom Dan – decided to stay.
However, an on-set insider has now revealed the details of a shocking phone call, which seems to suggest the 27-year-old model had ulterior motives for remaining in the experiment.
During filming, Jess was on the phone to a Perth-based friend, when she was overheard by Mick, 31, discussing her close relationship with the show’s producers.
“Mick overheard her tell the pal she was being praised for causing drama . Hearing that really upset him,” the source explains. “Jess told her friend the producers were very happy with her ‘performance’.
“Mick was gutted by Jess’s apparent lack of genuine interest in their marriage… He hasn’t been able to forgive her. He felt so embarrassed after that.”
A second source reveals Jess made various attempts to convince her fellow brides to drum up drama. She reportedly encouraged them to stage storm-outs, pull faces and even throw cutlery on the ground while she was near them to ensure she’d get swept up in their antics.
“Not much fazes Jess. She loves the spotlight and is OK with a little notoriety,” the source reveals.
While Jess appears to have a firm understanding of what producers wanted out of her, the source explains the show has still been a learning curve for her.
“At the start, they had to step in as she would sleep all day long, which made it hard to get any footage of her and Mick together,” the source explains.
“In fact, Mick had to go out by himself and kill so much time because he was always alone and couldn’t speak to any other of the couples.”

Jess’ secret diary leaked!
In what a source says is “more telling evidence” of her ulterior motives, Woman’s Day has obtained a secret diary Jessika gave Mick shortly after one of their fights. She supposedly wrote it at the suggestion of producers, to try and get the larrikin farmer back on side.
In the 60-page book, the blonde beauty writes: “Dear Mick (hubby), I wrote a book about you… it was easy to come up with lots to say about the incredible person you are, the wonderful things you do, and all the ways you are completely, ridiculously perfect, unlike anyone else… Yours, Jess (wifey).”
Written in the midst of Jess’ “affair” with Dan, the source claims the book was an attempt to convince not only Mick her feelings were genuine, but also the other contestants.
“The most wonderful thing about having you in my life is getting to see you 24/7, morning and night,” Jessika writes. “You’re braver and stronger than any make-believe superhero… My cheeks have never been this sore from laughing and smiling.”
