Sunday’s episode of Married at First Sight saw all 24 of our wonderful season six participants reuniting for one final dinner party.
And before the INSANE fireworks that would ensue – our couples, and singles, had to enter through the sliding door of the Balmain set, as they had previously done for the past two months.

In fact, Jules Robinson and Cam Merchant – who are for reals engaged; and Michael Brunelli and Martha Kalifatidis (who are most definitely not) both came in hand-in-hand – cementing the fact that they were indeed still going strong after choosing to stay in their final vows.
But it was another couple, Heidi Latcham and Mike Gunner, who had chosen to stay (in the most unromantic vow ceremony of all time) who appeared to come in completely seperate.
Mike, 44, was the first to arrive out of the pair, prompting shock from the experts and the fellow participants.

“Where’s Heidi? No, this is not what… this not right,” Mel Schilling said.
Deflecting all questions, Mike tells the group: “We’ll get to that.”
After Heidi arrives, looking absolutely fabulous, Mike talks to the cameras.
“Coming into this night as a single man wasn’t what I wanted or expected,” he said.
“Right after the final vows, Heidi and I went back to the Gold Coast together but it didn’t take long and the wheels started coming off.”

Clearly rattled by her arrival, and perhaps still a little bit in love, Mike admitted how gorgeous Heidi looked.
“I knew immediately why I fell in love with her,” he said, and actually, we kind of feel bad for the poor guy.
During the dinner party, it was Heidi’s turn to explain.
“So, we got to the end and we got to the final vows and we told each other that we loved each other,” she said.
“I moved everything to the Gold Coast and then it just went to s—t. It was great for like two days and then it just went to s—t,” she revealed.
“And then I haven’t spoken to him since.”

While we can’t say we are at all surprised, both Mike and Heidi seemed a little deflated – but in particular Mike.
Asking what everyone was thinking, Jessika Power asked him: “Are you sleeping with other women? Are you available?”
“No,” he responded. “I am now.”
“Tonight was just the full stop on it, I think,” he told the cameras.
“It was actually kind of sad as much as it was a relief to know where I stand.”
Prying again, Jessika noticed that Mike was still wearing his ring.
“I dunno, force of habit,” he said, dramatically taking it off. “I actually forgot I had it on.”
“It’s a shame, it would have been good to live a life with her. No, I’m alright. I’m fine,” he said before taking a long, sad sip of his chardonnay.

And, as we all know, when some says their fine…they’re crying big deep sobs inside, wondering where it all went wrong.
As the reunion episode looms on Monday night, we cannot wait to hear the rest of the story unfold.
