Gird your garters folks, Married at First Sight Australia has returned for 2020, and if the wedding dresses are anything to go by, we’re about to get a multi-tiered-wedding-cake portion of drama.
As the title suggests, the crux of the show puts the age-old question to the ultimate test – does love at first sight actually exist?
But love or no love, there’s no denying the power of a first impression, and albeit begrudgingly, we’ll admit that a lot of this revolves around physical appearance.
That’s why each and every one of the bride’s unique wedding dresses are a shining beacon of identity, individuality and a sure-fire sign of what’s to come on the show.

Vanessa
Rapunzel-esque bride Vanessa opted for a traditional cut with a twist – a lace bodice juxtaposed with this puffy tulle skirt makes a striking statement.
Tash
There’s still a case for a long-sleeved tux-inspired bridal silhouette, and Tash’s wrap design is case in point. Props to her, she rocks it.
Connie
Connie went for a feminine design, featuring a floral lace bodice and beautiful tiered skirt.

Off-white is all the rage, and Stacey’s silvery-white tulle skirt is all the inspo we need.

The bride’s rather fitted bodice fits like an actual glove, too.

If anything could give her strength in this moment, it would be those bold shoulder-pads.
Hayley
Hayley’s dress echoed Connie’s feminine lacy silhouette, but with an edge.
Poppy
Poppy catapulted her look into full tulle-extravaganza territory. Got to applaud the gal for making a peak bridal statement!

Superman-style shoulder detailing rounded out the striking look.
Natasha
Natasha went traditional, but edged things up with a stylish drop waist, which fell into a statement-making tulle skirt.
Aleks
In possibly the most striking look of all, Aleks’ long-sleeved lace design gave us Kate Middleton circa 2011 vibes, but with that classic MAFS spin, of course.

And her bright and bold bouquet only added to the dramatic look.
Cathy
Cathy opted for a plunging V-neck and thigh-high slit – with all the bridal modesty in-between.
Mishel
Mishel’s thin-strapped boat-neck design was another royal-esque ode – Meghan Markle eat your heart out!
