When Samantha Harvey discovered that her husband, and the father of her two boys, had been cheating on her for five years, her world crumbled.
“That betrayal crushed me and I hit rock bottom,” Samantha, tells TV WEEK. “I didn’t think I was going to be able to pull out of that.”

But the 31-year-old refused to fall into a spiral of self-pity.
Now, she’s putting her trust in the experts, to find love on Married At First Sight.
“It took that moment to wake me up again and go, ‘You have one chance in life – you can either sit there like a sad sack, drink wine and cry yourself to sleep, or get up and make life what you wanted,'” Sam recalls.
Following her divorce, Sam moved out with the boys, living in a dilapidated rental that was all she could afford.
Unable to pay for tradesmen to fix the scores of hazards for her kids, the busy mum got to work.
“When the kids went to sleep at night, I would get on YouTube, learn how to tile, learn what tools I would need.”
“All I had was my credit card, so I went to Bunnings [to buy the supplies] and did the labour myself,” Sam explains.
Through her renovation work, Sam found a new passion, and eventually turned her new skills into a job developing properties.
After always putting her boys first, Sam has made the difficult decision to leave them in Canberra with her parents in the hopes of finding The One on MAFS.
“For so long it’s just been the three of us,” Sam says.
“I’m so proud of myself for having the guts to do the show. I grabbed that opportunity with all I had and went for it.”
