In her 10 years in the US, KC was managed by singer Christina Milian and danced with the Pussycat Dolls.
But there was one thing she didn’t manage to do: find someone to spend her life with. That’s how she’s ended up as the second “intruder” bride on MAFS this season.
“Obviously, in Los Angeles it’s really hard to find love,” KC, 31, tells TV WEEK.
The Sydney performer went to the US with dreams of being the next Britney Spears. A month after arriving, she bumped into singer Christina Milian in a Starbucks.
“I said, ‘I’m a fan,’ and she said, ‘Oh, my God – you’re so cute. What do you do?’ and I said, ‘I sing and dance.'”
After being managed by Christina, KC started working for Robin Antin, the creator of the Pussycat Dolls.
“I was in a few of the Pussycat Dolls burlesque shows,” she says. “We’d go around to different locations, like Vegas, and back-up dance for artists. It was really, really fun.”
KC says the men she dated while living in the US included athletes, such as NFL player Danny Amendola, as well as celebrities and successful businessmen.
“I think in LA, these guys – these athletes and celebrities – have so many options, and everything’s just kind of at their fingertips,” she explains.
“Because I’m getting older now, I just wanted something more real and someone who was going to commit to me and start a life with. It just didn’t happen over there.”
KC had been back in Australia only a month when she was approached to be on MAFS.
“It all happened very, very fast,” she says. “I met with producers and a week later I was walking down the aisle. It was a bit of a whirlwind!”
Will she find love back home?
