Now that Gabrielle has left Married At First Sight, she’s questioning why her “husband” Nasser went on the show at all.

The couple seemed to hit it off on their honeymoon, but before long, Gab found herself shunted into the “friend zone” by Nasser.

“I think a lot of his behaviour and his attitude and his motives for being in the experiment were very different from mine and they were very hurtful in a lot of ways,” Gab tells TV WEEK.

“I don’t think Nasser was necessarily coming in with his sleeves rolled up, ready to make the best of this situation in terms of love.

“I think Nasser was there for the good times and was there maybe to raise his profile.”

At first Gabrielle and Nasser hit it off, but the pair soon headed south after the home stays.

Nasser works as a fitness instructor and has also spent many years in the music industry. As for Gab, she’s a marketing co-ordinator who also models and has had some acting roles.

But she thinks having gone on MAFS might hinder her future job opportunities.

“If you go for a casting for a supermarket commercial, you might well be seen as the girl from Married At First Sight for now,” she explains. “So it may lessen my chances for acting work.”

Gab says she went through a lot of grieving when her “marriage” on the show failed.

“I feel like I really grieved that imaginary man I hoped to meet but I didn’t,” she says.

However, she doesn’t hold any hard feelings when it comes to Nasser. She hopes that one day, the “right individual” will come his way.

“I’d be so happy for him,” she says. “I hope for really good things for Nasser. He is not a bad person.

“I wish him well. I think he deserves happiness as much as I do or anyone else.”
