On screen, Dion Giannarelli is currently oblivious to his bride Carolina Santos’ secret meetings with another groom, Daniel Holmes.
But now, having watched the scandal unfold along with the rest of Australia, he tells Woman’s Day he’s heartbroken.
“It was very much a surprise and it’s obviously very difficult and hard to watch back,” says Dion, who admits he feels humiliated.
The property developer says at the time of filming he “definitely” trusted Carolina, 33.
“She made it very clear I wasn’t the right person but I didn’t think catching up with another participant was on the cards,” he says.
But Dion, 34, says Carolina’s cruel treatment hasn’t knocked his confidence.
“I’m very comfortable in my own skin,” he says. “I am who I am, I can’t please everybody’s taste.”
While their future is now up in the air following Carolina’s betrayal, Dion says he isn’t one to give up. “Never have been, never will,” he says.
“You get knocked down, you get back up again. I’m always one to fight till the last straw.”

Meanwhile, Seven is casting the next season of My Kitchen Rules – and it seems Dion could be the perfect candidate!
“I’ve got a massive passion for cooking through my Italian heritage,” he says.
“I launched my own cooking channel [Cooking With Dion Giannarelli] on YouTube during COVID and it’s taken off.”
But as for whether the culinary king will be joining Manu Feildel on MKR, Dion’s playing coy.
“Things come across the table all the time,” he tells Woman’s Day. “We’ll just have to see what happens.”
