Things didn’t work out between Gabrielle and Nasser, with both of them finally deciding to leave Married At First Sight. But could Gab have a future with one of the other grooms?

The model/marketing coordinator from NSW tells TV WEEK that since filming finished, she’s become close to Sean. Yep, the groom who bailed when he didn’t feel a spark with his bride Jo.

“Sean from Adelaide – he’s one person that I’ve become very firm friends with,” Gabrielle, 44, says. “He’s a great bloke.”

Sean could have a second chance at love with Gab.

Gab believes that people who go through MAFS together become “kindred spirits”.

“This is a very intense emotional journey that you go on together,” she says.

“Nobody else can really understand until you’ve been there and done it. So it really does fast-track friendships to being quite close.”

As for romance, Gab says she and Sean have “never really set ourselves up in that way”. But with all the other coupling-up going on among ex-MAFS brides and grooms, who knows?

Certainly there’s zero chance of Gabrielle rekindling anything with Nasser.

“Nasser talked a lot when people were around about this friendship he wanted to have with me after the experiment,” she recalls.

“I questioned that. Sure enough, as soon as we left the experiment, I didn’t hear from Nasser.”

Gab says: “Nasser was there to raise his profile”

Meanwhile, viewers may have noticed Gab’s weight loss during the show and wondered if it was due to the stress of her failing “marriage”.

But Gab says the weight loss only had a little to do with stress and more to do with toxic shock syndrome.

“It wasn’t until the end of the filming that I realised I wasn’t putting any specific weight-loss effort in, yet I was still losing weight,” Gabrielle explains.

“That was the trigger for finding out that I had an illness that needed to get fixed.

“I was actually quite unwell, but I’m better now.”
