The ‘toxic’ comments from some of the grooms during the Married At First Sight boys’ night have left the rest of the cast of reeling. And outspoken Charlene Perera, 33, has absolutely zero regrets about slamming self-proclaimed alpha male and instigator Dean Wells.
“His comments about women and the way he’s treated Tracey throughout the experiment have been disgusting, so I had to speak up,” she says.
“He’s disrespectful.”

And her proud TV hubby Patrick Miller, 34, couldn’t agree more. “It’s just disrespectful. The guys shouldn’t be thinking about those sort of things,” he commented on the show.
“I’m glad she took a stand,” he added.
Viewers agreed, quick to weigh in on social media and praise Patrick for the way he carried himself.
“You have your head screwed on right Pat,” commented one, while another added, “You sir are a rare gentleman…raised right.”
Of course, Dean has a very different version of events, one that he happily shared on social media.
“Ah boys night. Fun was had by all, expect [sic] @pattymiller_mafs, who said he would like to swap for [Ryan’s wife] @davvyxx but for some reason they didn’t show that?!? But they did show me asking the question about other wives mums which the producers forced me to say cos the night was too boring for producer. Oh well,” wrote Dean. “Hopefully most people don’t take it too seriously. No disrespect was ever meant to any wives to any women in general. My apologies if I offended anyone.”
Earlier this week, Dean defended his actions insisting all the grooms participated in the conversation because, “that’s what happens on boys’ nights.” He added, “I can tell you that, on the night, everyone was equally involved in the chat about wife-swapping. It wasn’t just me.”
As for Patrick telling Charlene exactly what was said? “I regard that as breaking the bro code. I feel that’s a weak thing to do.”
