The Dean and Davina cheating scandal sent shockwaves through Married At First Sight. But while Dean eventually picked wife Tracey, it seems it’s not totally over with Davina.
“I’ve reached out to Davina,” Dean, 39, reveals to TV WEEK. “We’ve been talking a little bit here and there.
“I wanted to check on her and make sure she’s OK. I copped a lot of negative backlash from everything, so I know firsthand that it’s not easy.”
Dean insists his dalliance with Davina was innocent.
While Dean giving Davina a shoulder to cry on will raise eyebrows, he’s adamant he isn’t being lured away from Tracey.
“I care about Davina as a person, so I wanted to offer her support as a friend,” he declares.
Meanwhile, Dean is determined to quash rumours that he and Davina were physically intimate.
“All we really did was have a couple of conversations together,” he explains. “It never went further than that. I think people need to lay off her. It’s gone far enough.
“I wanted to reach out to her and let her know it was OK. But she’s tough, I think she’ll handle it.”
News that Dean and Davina are in touch is sure to cause issues with Davina’s former flame, Ryan. He clashed with Dean this season.
Despite this, Dean tells TV WEEK he has also spoken with Ryan and made amends.
“I like Ryan as a guy,” he says. “I think he and I will be fine in the long run as mates.
“We’ve spoken a bit after the show. We’re fine now and he’s all good with me, which is a relief.”
