They may be the first ever winners of Love Island Australia but now that they’ve left sunny Spain, it’s looking a bit grey for Tayla Damir and Grant Crapp.
21 year-old beauty queen Tayla confessed on The Kyle and Jackie O Show that she’s still getting over the scandal that 22 year-old electrician Grant had a secret girlfriend when he entered the villa and that she even considered ending the relationship.
“Obviously coming out and finding out that information, it was a big shock to the system and it was like, well, ‘Do you actually love me?'”
“We’re trying to rebuild the trust, so that’s where we’re at right now.”
And there was even more awkwardness when Kyle asked Grant, “What have you got to do to rebuild the trust?” and Tayla was quick to retort with, “Not have a girlfriend on the side.”
It was also revealed that Tayla tried to reach out to Grant’s secret lady friend.
“I came out, I found out this information and in my head I was like, ‘I actually feel sorry for this girl first of all and that’s something I should take upon myself to reach out to her.’ She didn’t want to talk to me, that’s fine, I totally understand that.”
“We’re at the point where we’re trying to get through this, it’s obviously put a huge strain on our relationship.”
In an exclusive chat with Now to Love following the show’s finale, Grant and Tayla opened up about the secret girlfriend rumours.
“I’d told Tayla everything in my past, and I explained that I was seeing someone six weeks before coming into the villa. I told her that it wasn’t a serious relationship, it was a fling. So when Tayla heard about it in the challenge, I don’t know why she put that face on, cos she had already heard it from me. I think that girl may have been using it for a little bit of fame.”
Hopefully the honeymoon isn’t totally over for these two, otherwise it’ll all be a bit Crapp.
