When Katherine Kelly Lang was eliminated from the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! jungle just a week after joining the existing campers, it would be safe to say our hearts broke.
The Bold and the Beautiful actress was clearly gutted to be the fourth celebrity to leave, bursting into tears when the unexpected announcement was made.
“I’m so disappointed! I just wanted to do better,” sobbed the daytime soap star while her fellow campers looked on, stunned.

The actress, who has played character Brooke Logan on the daytime TV show for more than 30 years, made a big impression on campers from day dot.
And host Dr Chris Brown’s reaction to the 57-year-old’s despair over being voted out of the jungle summed it up: “No! ‘You are happiness and light personified!” He told her.

Despite being in the jungle little over a week, there were many testing moments that took their toll on Katherine – physically and mentally.
The blonde actress was put through her paces in several tucker trials, including the harrowing Sunday Slam which forced her to confront her fear of claustrophobia head on.
And while she put on an admirably brave display, there were some serious repercussions.
“I got so weak, so fast,” she tells Now To Love in an exclusive chat.
“I didn’t know what was wrong with me, but I was losing like a pound a day – by the end of it I’ve lost 10 pounds.”
And there’s no denying Katherine’s distinct Hollywood look – her youthful appearance is strikingly similar to what it was 30 years ago (and all the pictures here prove it!).
So how did she get along in the jungle without her strict beauty routine?
“I kept asking ‘can I have my creams!?’ Where’s my creams!? One of these mornings you’ve got to give me my creams!’,” she joked.
But that wasn’t the only thing she struggled with. Keep scrolling as we hear how the actress is feeling after one of the most testing weeks of her life.
Katherine, what was the biggest hurdle you encountered during your jungle experience?
Oh there were so many and it just kept going. The first one was leaving home and knowing that once I was there they would take my phone away and I wouldn’t be able to talk to my other half and my kids.
And then to be thrown into a camp with 12 strangers and have to get to know them and be comfortable with them quickly was really hard. And to then be on limited rations for food while trying to be cherry – it was tough!
I got so weak, so fast. I didn’t know what was wrong with me, but I was losing like a pound a day – by the end of it I’ve lost 10 pounds.
And on top of that the trials really take it to the next level. It’s something you would never choose to do in real life, you’re forced to face these and do your best. I found the whole process very interesting.
Now that you’re out of the jungle, what are you doing to heal?
I lost a lot of weight in a short period of time, so I need to get some of my strength back – I’m going to eat a little bit more protein and more green juices with lots of vitamins and minerals.
I did feel so weak on that diet. But it’s ultimately cleaned out my system, so now I don’t want to eat a bunch of junk – I want to continue to a healthy routine and I’m going to try and maintain it.
You have a solid beauty routine normally, can you tell us how you managed without it in the jungle?
Oh it affected me horribly, I kept asking ‘can I have my creams!?’ Where’s my creams!? One of these mornings you’ve got to give me my creams!’.
I’m so picky about what I put on my face – I need my night serums, I need my under eye cream, I need my heavy duty moisturising night cream. Then when I wake up I put them on all over again in the morning!
Then I have my day time creams, I have my lunch creams. Then I have my special shampoo… you know – you get it!
Being stripped of all of that doesn’t make you feel good – it’s an important part of a woman’s routine.
What’s next for you this year?
I’m going straight back to the Bold and the Beautiful, [the producers] are like ‘hurry back we’ve got storylines for you!’.
I’m also working on a film in Italy and I’ll be coming back to Australia four times this year!
What was your greatest learning from being in the jungle?
When you put yourself in that position you kind of realise how blessed you are. You realise how lucky you are to have a great job and to have an amazing family.
So much of that you take for granted, but when you’re stripped of it and when you’re put in that situation you really appreciate the things that you do have.
Katherine’s chosen charity was Breakaway from Cancer.
