When it comes to her career, much-loved Aussie actress Kerry Armstrong has never played by the rules.
The I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! contestant famously turned down a spot on Saturday Night Live, opting for a role in Shakespeare’s Measure For Measure instead.
The decision shocked her agent and, she concedes, may have stopped her from cracking the big time.
And the four-times-married actress has proved equally unpredictable in love.
At the age of 23 in 1981, Kerry, who recently turned 60, married Australian Crawl guitarist Brad Robinson.
But the marriage was dissolved so Kerry could focus on her career.
“I was incredibly encouraged by Brad, my husband at the time,” Kerry told Woman’s Day of her early career, which saw her appear in hit US TV shows Dynasty and Murder, She Wrote.
“I have a strong feeling Brad knew that his life was going to be cut short, and that after we got married he could see what was happening,” she says of her husband, who tragically died of cancer in 1996 at age 38.
”I have a feeling that he helped kind of keep me going.”
