Tennis star Bernard Tomic says he went into the jungle to show Australia his true colours.
And on Tuesday night’s episode of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! the nation were given a glimpse of his vulnerable side after he threatened to walk out of the show just 48 hours in.
The 25-year-old was left feeling worse for wear following a tucker trial, which saw him suspended up in the air above a canyon.
“I am really sick. I am about to vomit, I am out, I am so sick,” Bernard screamed as he was dangling in the air.
“I’ve never felt so ill before,” he added, before shouting the iconic safety line which terminates challenges: “I’m a celebrity… get me out of here!”
After the obstacle course was stopped, Bernard was tended to by a medic before asking to speak to a producer about leaving the show.
“We actually don’t know anything at this stage,” the show’s host Dr. Chris Brown explained.
“Will he stay or go? The truth is we don’t know yet,” Julia Morris added.
Back at the camp site, the tennis bad boy contemplated walking out of the reality series.
“This is the jungle, this is so different. Not what I expected, I don’t think I can do it,” he said.
“There is no point in me being here anymore and wasting unnecessary time for myself because I need to be out there playing and competing and I feel bad because I just met this bunch of people and you guys are super.”
But Real Housewives of Melbourne star Jackie Gillies managed to talk Tomic off the ledge for now.
“I don’t think you should give up. I think you should power through it and you should do it for your charity, do it for yourself. Don’t give up,” she told him.
Amidst all the drama, another huge moment unfolded on last night’s episode – Anthony “The Man” Mundine also entered the jungle.
“I’m not domestic at all, that’s the woman’s job. We go hunting and eat the food,” the controversial boxing identity mused during his piece to camera.
Tune in at 7:30pm tonight to see if Bernard Tomic walks out!
