They’ve had some explosive fights on House Rules. But there’s one thing that really worries David and Chiara: their three children seeing them argue on screen.
“Chiara and I never blow up in front of our kids,” David, 38, says. “This might be a bit of an eye-opener for them.”
Seth, eight, Taya, six, and Ellie Mae, three – have watched every episode of the show.
“I think they’re missing us so much, they’re loving being able to have a bit of us with them,” Chiara, 32, adds.
The Perth couple admit their relationship hit rocky patches during filming.
“David and I do struggle and do fight,” Chiara confesses.
“I’m the first to own that. We definitely seek help along the way, because we’ve had a lot of rocky road.”
David says he feels it’s his fault the family isn’t in a better financial situation.
“When Chiara and I met, I was 20, 30 grand in debt,” he explains. “I didn’t have a house or anything to offer. Then all of a sudden, Chiara’s pregnant.”
But he’s hoping House Rules will put them ahead.
“It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to change your life and make a difference for your family,” he says.
House Rules airs Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 7:30pm and Sunday 7pm on Channel 7.
