Farmer Wants A Wife star Tess Brookman has sent fans into a frenzy following a recent Instagram post, with many believing that Brookman had become the latest Farmer bride.
“It’s not every day that you get to dress up as a bride!!,” Brookman wrote to Instagram alongside a collection of stunning photos of herself in an off-the-shoulder wedding gown.
The post immediately excited fans of the couple, with many believing that Brookman and her Farmer partner Harry Floyd had secretly tied the knot.
Brookman was quick to dispel any wedding rumours, clarifying that her gorgeous gown was part of a bridal showcase that she was modelling in.
“For a hot sec I thought you had a secret wedding and I was OFFENDED I wasn’t invited. You are beautiful,” wrote one fan.
“What! Don’t do that Tess! My heart skipped a beat! Of course….you look stunning ❤️❤️,” added another.
Although the couple have not yet officially tied the knot, Tess and Harry have been settling into life in paradise after having packed their bags and moved to Airlie Beach in the Whitsundays in January.
“We had an amazing weekend, we went mud crabbing,” Tess tells Woman’s Day of the pair’s idyllic new lifestyle.
After the show wrapped last year, Harry, 24, became the first farmer to ditch the country for the city and moved to the Gold Coast to be with Tess.
But after nine months in the big smoke, the pair decided to relocate to Far North Queensland after Tess finished her university studies and scored a job as a psychologist in the region.
“Then Harry found an amazing farming job just down the road,” Tess shares of her partner, who is now working on a cattle farm.
Harry says it was “great” living on the Gold Coast but he “definitely” couldn’t see himself being there forever. “I’ve missed the quiet,” he tells.
And Tess, 23, confirms their new base is certainly slower paced. “There’s two traffic lights in town,” she laughs.
The lovebirds say they have no plans to ever return to city life.
They celebrated their first anniversary on March 4 “with a takeaway on the beach”. Tess believes a big reason for the success of the couple’s relationship is down to their move.
“Since the show we’ve had some pretty awesome adventures and lifestyle changes and I think that’s brought us closer together,” she says.
“We’ve been able to focus on our relationship and grow together a bit. It’s been the most fun time together.”
GROWING FAMILY
When it comes time to start having children, the couple think they’ll want to be closer to their own respective families in Victoria.
“Harry’s family farm is there and so is my family, [so] that would make sense,” says Tess. “We’re working towards that, [but] I think we’re both really young at the moment, so we’re just kind of getting experience and having adventures.”
While speaking with TV WEEK, the pair revealed they have started talking babies and marriage.
“There’s some ‘could look like this’ kind of discussion,” Tess adds. “A day to look forward to.”
“A future with him just looked so exciting, raising kids on a farm. I hope that’s on the cards for us.”
Tess thinks there’s a simple reason why the couples on Farmer seem to have a better track record when it comes to finding happiness than Married At First Sight participants.
“I went on looking for love and nothing else,” she says. “And I think Farmer attracts quality people with good values. That’s why it works.”
And the couple say they can’t thank the show enough for bringing them together. “I’m forever grateful,” says Harry.
