While her first outing on Dancing With The Stars may not have impressed the judges, Cassandra Thorburn is having more luck connecting with her fellow contestants.
The former journalist reveals she has grown close to Samuel Johnson.
“Samuel and I get along so well,” Cassandra, 47, tells TV WEEK. “We’re very similar. We’re in the same age group and have exactly the same sense of humour.
“We’ve gotten close and we just ‘get’ each other. I’d never met him before, but we clicked instantly. We now hang out together after the show.”
It seems the feeling is mutual, with Sam telling a national radio show he has a crush on Cassandra.
“I did tell her she looks great,” Sam, 41, said. “And it looks like she’s going to go all the way because she’s got the moves.
“She’s got swagger and looks banging. She’s got the goods!”
There’s no denying the Sydney mother-of-three is in the shape of her life, with the gruelling rehearsal sessions for DWTS helping to transform her body.
“I’m so toned right now,” Cassandra enthuses.
“I was never a big person, really, but it’s toned me, and I’ve lost weight.”
She’s not the only one, with her fellow contestant Miguel Maestre revealing he’s shed several kilos since joining the dance series.
“It’s amazing how in a couple of weeks I’ve found myself lighter on my feet,” Miguel, 39, tells TV WEEK. “I’ve lost 6.5kg already!”
Dancing With The Stars airs Monday, 7.30pm, on 10.
