In bittersweet news, Bride and Prejudice star Milly Johnson has welcomed a baby boy whose father Micah Downey passed away in December from a suspected drug overdose.
The reality star took to Instagram to share the news of the birth and has also revealed the new bub’s name which is a heartbreaking tribute to his late dad.
Taking to Instagram, Milly captioned a photo of herself sitting on a bed, holding her newborn son, “Feeling so much love for a little life that I delivered into the world on Monday 27 January 2020 at 6:46PM ✨ A healthy baby boy weighing 3680g (8 Pounds).”
And as an emotional tribute to her son’s late dad, Milly revealed that the baby’s name is Micah Harper Johnson.
Comments have since flooded the post offering both congratulations and sympathies during such a bittersweet moment.
“Congratulations, so beautiful of you to honour Micah! May he watch over you all,” one person wrote.
“I love the name being carried on, congratulations love xx,” penned another.
Just a day after announcing the news of Micah’s death, Milly shared a series of photos and a video of herself, Micah and their young son Julian.
“Sometimes you’ll never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory. -Dr. Seuss,” she captioned the post.
She also shared another of Micah looking out at the beach at Winkipop and captioned it with the tragic quote: “The irony of grief is that the person that you need to talk to about how you feel is the person who is no longer here.”
The Daily Telegraph reported that according to Micah’s drug counsellor Jodi Barber, “a mixture of illegal and prescription drugs” were the reason for the 26-year-old’s death.
Milly broke the news of Micah’s tragic passing earlier this month via Instagram, writing: “It is so sad & unbelievably surreal that I am making this post 😣
“On the 28 December 2019 Micah Patrick Downey passed away. I am struggling to put into words how sad & heartbreaking this is 💔”
“I just hope he is at peace wherever he is & that he will always be watching over his babies 🙏🏼 A bad, bad dream. I can’t believe you’re not here. Rest In Peace Micah.”
The reality star and mum then shared a video of the former couple together on her Instagram story, writing: “I wish things could have been different. I know deep down you wanted to change.”
