There is no doubt that Big Brother VIP is going to serve up some of the wildest reality television moments of 2021.
Its cast is insane, with personalities like Caitlyn Jenner, actor Bernard Curry, Kyle Sandiland’s model ex Imogen Anthony set to make an appearance.
However, perhaps the most infamous person audiences expect to bring headline worthy drama is Thomas Markle Jr, aka Meghan Markle’s half-brother.
Yeah, it’s going to be a wild ride. But significant and controversial individuals aside, where is Big Brother VIP being filmed?
TV Week has reached out to Channel Seven, who confirmed the show is filming at Sydney Olympic Park.
Sydney Olympic Park is a new location for the show, which filmed its 2020 and 2021 series at a complex in Manly.
According to the Daily Mail, the set of the 2020 and 2021 seasons was demolished in January, after Channel Seven purchased a warehouse in the Northern Beaches.
Unfortunately for the show’s organisers, they were forced to abandon their warehouse after the National Parks and Wildlife Service served them an eviction notice because of concerns for the local wildlife.
Despite their location dramas, a source revealed to Woman’s Day that agents have been clamouring to secure their talent on Big Brother VIP.
“Celebrity agents are falling over themselves to cast their talent,” the source told the publication.
“This revamped celebrity format will be on our screens before the end of the year.”
After the success of Dancing With The Stars: All-Stars, Channel Seven was reportedly focused on hiring real celebrity talent.
“The Seven Network is keen on getting real celebrities with real credibility.
“Their cast of Dancing with the Stars is a pretty clear indication the Network knows how to find big names, which will hopefully draw a lot of attention to the VIP series,” said the source.
