Duchess Catherine and Prince William have celebrated a rather special date night together in London – their first official public appearance since taking a short break with their children during the school holidays.
It seems the break has certainly done the trick for the pair – they couldn’t have looked more happy and relaxed as they stepped out for a very traditional date night option – attending the theatre.
Indeed the Duke and Duchess were all smiles as they pulled up to the Noël Coward Theatre to see Dear Evan Hansen.
Dressed in a stunning Eponine black tweed dress, Kate was glowing as she enjoyed the performance with Wills.
She accessorised the look with her sparkly silver Jimmy Choo heels and a matching sparkly clutch bag.
After the show, the couple met several special members of the cast backstage , where they talked about the poignant storyline.
The narrative revolves around a young boy who struggles to connect in a hyperconnected world. Alongside Evan’s struggles, the story addresses issues affected teens today, including mental heath and their relationships.
The storyline is a meaningful one for the Duke and Duchess, who both champion causes supporting those suffering mental health issues.
In fact, the pair have spearheaded mental health charity Give Us a Shout alongside Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan.
The 24/7 text messaging service is available to anyone who is struggling, and invites them to message the free number to receive instant support in times of crisis.
Prince William is also currently spearheading Heads Up, which is collaborating with various football unions to highlight the fact that mental health is just as important as physical health.
The Duke has visited a number of football clubs over recent months to shine a light on the campaign – meeting with various players and helping to share their stories.

Duchess Catherine meanwhile is also heavily involved in the welfare of young people.
She has just wrapped up a national survey in the UK, which addressed issues and opportunities for children under the age of five – and their parents.
The survey wrapped up last week, with the results now being correlated in order to help bring about change for generations to come.
Tuesday’s theatre date is certainly not the only thing the Cambridges’ are thinking about at the moment.
In early March, the pair will head to Ireland in a whirlwind three day tour, visiting several different locations and enjoying some of the unique offerings of the country.
If Kate’s glorious outfit from this evening is anything to go by, we’re in for a right royal fashion display in Ireland – bring it on!
