Australian Survivor will be set in the harsh Aussie outback this year, with filming having taken place in Cloncurry, in far-north Queensland, which is known for its insanely hot climate.

In fact, it holds the record for the highest temperature ever recorded in Australia: a whopping 53.1 °C.

Jonathan LaPaglia is back again to host the new season, and we can’t wait to see what it has in store for the cast.

Gavin

Gavin

Is that AFL legend Gavin Wanganeen staring back at us? The sporting icon will be joining the Brawn Tribe, and we’re sure he’ll make a big impression.

He wants to become the first Indigenous person to win Australian Survivor, representing his community on national TV. And while he may be on the Brawn tribe, he thinks the other contestants will underestimate his brainy side.

“I think people will definitely underestimate me because they’ll think, ‘He’s a dumb ex footballer’,” the former Port Adelaide player said in the trailer. “I’m ready to play. The beast comes out, so don’t mess with me.”

Dani

Dani

“The Australian Outback might be fierce, but it’s no match to the snakes I deal with every single day,” said prison officer Dani.

Working in a maximum security prison day-in, day-out is no easy job, and Dani has gotten used to keeping her guard up. She’s “tough-as-nails”, so it only makes sense Dani will be joining the Brawn Tribe on this season of Australian Survivor.

There’s no doubt her experience holding her own will come in handy on the show, but she has a more significant reason for signing up. Dani wants to win for her nieces, to prove to them – and anyone else – that women can achieve anything.

George

George

“I’ll let the audience decide if I’m the hero, or the villain,” said George, who will be joining the Brains Tribe.

He’s ready to pull anyone’s strings on the show and hopes to get ahead with strategy and intellect, a few skills he picked up at work as a “faceless man” in the Labor Party.

He may think he’s the smartest person in the room, but Australian Survivor is sure to put his brains to the test.

Ten

Laura

Marine scientist and model Laura Wells will be on the Brain tribe. Holding degrees in both biology and law, as well as qualifications in environmental management systems, she’s definitely earned her place among the fellow Brains.

Phil

“I’m straight up, I’m pretty honest. I’m a Scorpio, they’re loyal,” Phil said in a trailer. “Because of my ability to understand people and read them, I’ll be able to make any sort of plan happen.”

The Crochet King will be joining the Brain tribe, though they will probably have to leave their funky knitted sweaters at home.

Ten

Benny

“I’ve got no emotion, I’m willing to throw people under the bus,” entrepreneur Benny said in an intro clip. “I will win the game.”

Benny will join the Brawn tribe and looks like a serious contender.

Ten

Daini

Personal trainer Daini is (obviously) joining the Brawn tribe and had this to say in one trailer: “In bodybuilding, when your body’s aching, when you’re starving, that’s when you’re the happiest.”

Ten

Chelsea

“The Brains tribe have got to watch it because the Brawn tribe are going to come in so hard,” said MMA fighter Chelsea. It’s Brawn tribe for her.

Ten

Georgia

“Brain is multifaceted, brawn is one dimensional. Without a doubt brain is better than brawn,” said forensic psychologist Georgia. No guesses about which tribe she’ll be joining – Brain.

Ten

Flick

Flick – or Felicity – is a surfer who went pro at just 16 years old, and she’ll be joining the Brawn tribe. Currently ranked second in the world for Big Wave Surfing, she knows what it takes to be the best.

Ten

Emmett

Emmett is a health coach also joining the Brawn tribe, where his reputation as an Ironman and CrossFit fanatic will help him get ahead.

Ten

Cara

Cara describes herself as an empath, someone who can sense and feel other people’s emotions as if they were her own. It’s a skill she says will get her ahead of the game as a member of the Brain tribe.

Shannon

“I’m a hustler, they’re not going to see what’s coming,” said influencer Shannon, who will join the Brawn tribe. “I am a beast.”

A full-time model and health and fitness advocate, Shannon isn’t just a pretty face – she’s also a trained dancer and boxing instructor, skills that will give her an edge on Survivor.

Ten

Wai-survivor

Wai

“I’m going to be a very resilient player and make the best strategic decisions,” Brain tribe’s Wai said. She holds degrees from some of the most prestigious academic institutions from around the world and plans to use her knowledge as her greatest weapon.

Ten

simon-survivor

Simon

Simon is a carpenter joining the Brawn tribe in 2021, but it’s his past as a former body builder that’s likely to help him in the brutal Survivor challengers.

Ten

Andrew

Andrew is an Aussie wildlife and survival expert, and there’s no doubt his skills will come in handy for the Brain tribe. With the show filming in the Queensland outback, his knowledge of creepy crawlies and ways to survive could mean the difference between victory and defeat.

Ten

Janelle

Janelle is joining the Brawn tribe, but don’t let her role as a mum and cleaner fool you – she’s here to stir the pot, and anyone who underestimates her may come to regret it.

Ten

Kez

Body builder and personal trainer Kez is also joining the Brawn tribe in 2021, and there’s no doubt about her credentials. Don’t let her sweet face fool you either – this woman will do what it takes to survive.

Ten

Gerald

There’s only one place fit for champion wood chopper Gerald, and that’s the Brawn tribe. A fifth-generation cattle farmer from the Aussie bush, he’ll be in his element as the show unfolds in a new Far North Queensland location. Did we mention he’s also a master axe grinder? We’re sure that skill will come in handy too.

Ten

Baden

Baden is a Tour de France Green Jersey Winner and former Olympian, but he’ll be on the Brain tribe for this season of Survivor. Having won over 50 races and competed at the highest level for 14 years, there’s no doubt Baden’s determination will be his greatest strength.

Ten

Joey

Joey will be joining the Brain tribe as a tradesman-turned-tycoon, but his brains aren’t the only thing he’s bringin to the table. The 35-year-old has also competed in over 100 marathons and knows what it takes to come out on top physically.

Ten

Hayley

Hayley is a pain researcher who says her knowledge of pain and how people deal with it will help her get ahead in the Brains tribe.

Ten

Mitch

Mitch is a doctor whose leadership qualities will set him apart in the Brains tribe from the get go – but could that paint a target on his back?

Ten

Rachel

Rachel may seem unassuming at first, but don’t be fooled into thinking this Brains tribe member isn’t a threat. Underestimating her could put the Brawn tribe in a sticky situation.
