This footage of a sting gone wrong has become the hit of the internet today.
Featuring a man flirting with a school girl(played by an 18-year-old actress) as his wife secretly watches on, filmed for US YouTube channel To Catch a Cheater, the clip is leaving people speechless.
And it gets even more uncomfortable once the man realises he is being filmed.
The wife (who remains nameless) explains that a neighbour had alerted her to the fact her husband was listed on a local sex offenders list. She had reached out to the To Catch a Cheater team to see if there was any chance her husband would make a move on an underage girl.
“Right, let’s see if your husbands a pedo,” says the host of the show as he begins to play the footage.
Played by 18-year-old Madison, a ’16-year-old’ approaches the man/target as he is sitting, feeding ducks in a public park.
Madison initially introduces herself as a first year at a local university while actively flirting with the man, who at first is dismissive and seemingly uninterested in her efforts.
Eventually he begins to flirt back, which is when Madison says, “can I confess something? I’m actually 16, almost turning 17.”
Age of consent laws in the US are set between 16-18 years, depending on location.
The man then halfheartedly asks the girl to move a little further away.
“Do you still want to hang out sometime?” the actress asks.
To which the man replies he is sort of dating someone, but then quickly adds he could take her number and the pair could be friends.
His wife is not happy.
The pair hug and the actress starts to walk away.
But not before the man notices the mic pack on the retreating figure of the actress and confronts the filming team as they attempt to drive away.
The man gives up and the team speed off.
“Now I know I live with a stranger,” concedes the visibly unhappy wife as the footage concludes.
The footage explains that couple is working on their relationship and has sought counselling.
