Rebecca Harding is currently separated from her boyfriend Andy Lee, who is filming his new show The Hundred in Sydney, as she stays home during Melbourne’s latest lockdown.
On Thursday, the model revealed she was recovering from a gruesome injury she sustained after attempting to cook with her “good” Japanese knives while home alone.
However, she underestimated their dangerously sharp edges, and she sliced off her nail.
At first, she posted a picture of her attempt to take care of the wound.
In the image, she had wrapped a thick layer of bandages around the tip of the finger, and she claimed that collagen supplements would help her grow the nail back faster.
“Accidentally sliced half of my nail off last night using the “good” Japanese knives whilst cooking dinner,” she explained.
“Will up my collagen supplements to help encourage nail growth.”
She ended her message with a sarcastic comment to make fun of her situation.
“How’s your lockdown going?”
A few hours later, there was no good news when Bec updated her followers with the reality of her concerning injury.
It turned out that she needed some actual medical intervention to contain the wound, and she was even prescribed some antibiotics so that the cut won’t become infected.
She uploaded a picture of her professionally bandaged hand and its worlds away from her original attempt to contain her sliced finger on her Instagram story.
“Update: Turns out I’m not a doctor, and my attempt of bandaging myself wasn’t correct,” she explained.
She then explained the extent of her injury, “Turns out I have some good knife skills, managed to hit an artery.”
Lastly, she added a sly personal dig for trying to give herself medical treatment.
“Antibiotics and some hectic bandage action (by a real doctor) required,” she finished.
Bec and Andy have been together for around seven years. While they’ve been separated, rumours began to swirl that they got married when an Instagram caption by Andy accidentally referred to her as his wife.
The post has been deleted and appears to have been a mistake.
However, the couple have recently taken a big step together this year by welcoming a new addition to their family, a dog called Henri.
