She revealed herself as the alien on Ten’s The Masked Singer last week to rounds of applause from devoted Aussie fans who’ve followed her story since she was the darling of the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
But behind the mask Nikki Webster was hiding a secret battle, with a source revealing to Woman’s Day she and husband Matthew McMah have sadly called time on their seven-year marriage.
In the days following her reveal on the hit singing show, Nikki, 32, was putting on a brave face despite stepping out without her wedding ring for a string of radio interviews.
Keeping Mum
And the mum-of-two, who now runs three Sydney-based dance studios, is clearly determined to focus on what matters most in the wake of the split – her adorable daughter Skylah, five, and son Malachi, who is almost two.

“They both love music and they love performing,” Nikki said of her little ones last week. “My daughter dances all day at my studios and on a Saturday and she absolutely loves it.”
Nikki and Matt, 39, married on November 10, 2012, in the Sydney suburb of Annandale. On their wedding day, Matt gave Nikki the fairytale entrance she’d dreamed of since she was a little girl, surprising the Strawberry Kisses singer with her very own horse and carriage.

“It was so romantic!” Nikki told Woman’s Day in her first interview after she said ‘I do’.
“I did it because her grandmother and her mother arrived at the church on their wedding days in a horse and carriage,” Matt said at the time.
“I thought it would be a lovely gesture, especially since her grandparents came all the way from the UK for the wedding. I looked at a few and picked the one that most looked like a princess carriage.”
Now, however, it seems Nikki’s fairytale was not meant to be. Although it’s not known exactly when the couple split, Nikki was first spotted without her wedding ring as far back as December 2018.
Masked Singer
In the months that followed, she and Matt were photographed outside Nikki’s dance studio doing what appeared to be a handover of their kids.
The former child star declined to comment when Woman’s Day approached her last week. She did, however, fail to mention Matt in any interviews after she was eliminated from The Masked Singer, instead dedicating her performance to her lookalike daughter.

“I just want my daughter to watch it at home and see if she can pick me,” Nikki told the judges after she removed her mask. “Did you guess me, Skylah? I hope you did and I hope you love the Alien, so it was for you, baby girl.”
Matt, who works in the aviation industry, proposed to Nikki on a romantic holiday to Fiji in 2010 after two-and-a-half years of dating.
The pair were introduced on a blind date. After revealing their plans to wed, Nikki told Woman’s Day, “I can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives together”.
