Purple Wiggle Lachy Gillespie is a dad – twice over!
The 34-year-old announced the safe arrival of twin daughters with fiancée Dana Stephensen, sharing his happy, and very unexpected, news via his Instagram page late on Friday evening.
In a touching first family snap, the proud parents can be seen holding their tiny newborn daughters – Lulu and Lottie – in total love and awe.
The sisters are clad in matching beanies and the trademark rainbow bunny rugs from the hospital.
“Oh Lulu and Lottie, your mummy and daddy love you with all we have – you are both so beautiful – and I would love to sing to you both forever……… 🌈💜💜🌈,” Lachy wrote alongside the pic.
Meanwhile, Dana posted the same photo on Saturday morning and mused: “Lulu and Lottie – our two little sweethearts 💕💕.”

(Image: Instagram)The surprise announcement was met with well wishes from Lachy’s bandmates, including ex-wife Emma Watkins, who left two purple love hearts under Lachy’s post in tribute to the purple skivvy he wears while performing in the children’s supergroup.
“So beautiful. Congratulations ❤️,” Red Wiggle and soon to-be dad Simon Pryce said.
“Welcome to the world! 💜💜,” The Wiggles’ band account penned.

(Image: Instagram)Although Dana and Lachy shared the news of their engagement in April, the couple never publicly announced their pregnancy.
Dana also has a young son, Jasper, from a previous relationship, with whom Lachy is extremely close.
The pair’s romance was first confirmed in August last year, after they fell for one another on the set of a Wiggles’ DVD special.
Opening up about their romance, mother-of-three Dana told the Daily Telegraph: “He’s just amazing and I just love him so much.”
The senior dancer for the Australian Ballet also revealed the two had an instant spark after meeting in December 2018 when Dana, 34, was a guest ballet dancer on The Wiggles Big Ballet Day DVD special.
Ex-wife Emma was one of the first people to congratulate Lachy on becoming a father.

The pair were once considered the ultimate Wiggles‘ power couple, but just two years after tying the knot, they caused shockwaves when they announced their surprise split in August 2018.
Despite calling time on their marriage, the pair have vowed to remain friends as they continue to work together in the children’s supergroup.
Yellow Wiggle Emma has also followed ex-husband Lachy’s lead by dating a costar, recently going public with her new man Oliver Brian, who plays the guitar and banjo for The Wiggles.
