A huge congratulations to Australian singer Missy Higgins, who has just welcomed her second child.
The 34-year-old has given birth to a beautiful baby girl, who she’s named Luna.
Taking to Instagram on Monday afternoon, she shared a hospital selfie with her greatest hit, penning, “Welcome to the world little Luna.”
The award-winning artist had the nation gasping with delight when she announced she was pregnant with baby number two back in March during her Perth show, where she opened for British musician Ed Sheeran.
Wanting to keep a memento for her unborn child, Missy Higgins told the crowd, “I wanted to write a song that kind of put the day I met Dan into a song so I could play it for our children.”
Missy’s music always has a message… Here’s her song for all the kids who don’t have a home
Before sharing, “And on that note, I’d like to tell you guys that I’m expecting!”
The news made the 60,000 strong crowd go nuts.
Pointing to the slightest pop on her tummy, she added, “This is the first time I’ve ever said it publicly. So there you go, that’s what this little bump’s doing down here.”
The songstress and her partner, playwright and comedian Dan Lee, are already parents to their son, three-year-old Samuel Arrow Lee.
Missy and Dan first got engaged back in 2013, before tying the knot three years later in March, 2016.
Speaking about being a mum, she mused, “I think whenever you give birth to the next generation your mortality becomes apparent all of a sudden.”
