The former Today show host, 45, confirmed his shoe designer wife, 35, was pregnant using his trademark humour.

Posting a paparazzi photo of himself at the beach – the same set of photos that showed Jasmine with a baby bump – Karl wrote: “After a great deal of speculation… the rumours are true”. He then added a baby face emoji.

It will be the fourth child for Karl, who is already dad to Jackson, 19, Ava, 13 and River, 12, from his previous marriage to Cassandra Thorburn.

Meanwhile, mum-to-be Jasmine is yet to officially break her silence on the baby news.

A slew of the couple’s celebrity friends were quick to offer their congratulations to Jasmine and Karl, with Beau Ryan, Jodie Speers and Leila Mckinnon among those commenting on the post.

Former NRL WAG Phoebe Burgess referenced her own children as she wrote: “Hahaha love you two, sorry three!! So excited for your growing family. Love @jasyarby @karlstefanovic_ 😘😘😘 (pops and billy are looking forward to welcoming their little mate) xxx”

Rumours of Jasmine’s pregnancy first arose shortly after the couple’s first wedding anniversary in December, after some cryptic photos surfaced on Instagram.

In the snaps at an intimate dinner in New York, Jasmine appeared on a friend’s Instagram story, with the event labelled as a “baby shower”.

“I love baby showers,” the guest penned on an Instagram story, while another friend posted a baby emoji over a photo of Jasmine touching her stomach.

A report by the Daily Telegraph revealed the news shortly afterwards, and that Karl told not only his friends and three children, but his ex-wife Cassandra Thorburn as well, out of courtesy.

“Jas and Karl are over the moon,” a friend also told the publication. “They are very happy.”

According to the report, once Cass, who was married to Karl for 21 years heard the news, she quipped: “Are you serious? You are asking me about something that has nothing to do with me.”

At the 2019 TV WEEK Logie Awards, when Karl was asked about the rumours that Jasmine was pregnant, the Channel Nine star told TV WEEK: “Well, if the gods of fertility shall shine their light on us at some point, it would be fine.”

Back in 2010, soon-to-be father-of-four Karl underwent a vasectomy.

“I have had the snip now. So we’re definitely not having any more kids unless at some point we want to have it reversed, although I really can’t see that happening any time soon,” he confirmed to Woman’s Day at the time.

Karl and Jasmine met in 2016, just months after Karl had separated from Cass.

“When we first met, I thought he was going to be such a good friend, because we just laughed all the time. He had me in fits of laughter all day!” Jasmine told Vogue Brides of their initial meeting.

Karl reaffirmed this shortly after he and Jasmine went public with their relationship in 2017, telling Stellar magazine: “I certainly did not expect to meet someone five months after I broke up with my wife.”

The couple married at the One&Only Palmilla resort in San José del Cabo, Mexico in front of 200 friends and family in December 2018.
