Lisa Marie Presley’s mother, Priscilla Presley, has taken to Facebook to put to bed rumours her granddaughters are in protective custody.
In a series of touching posts showing eight-year-old twin sisters Finley and Harper Lockwood happily playing, the proud grandmother explained: “There is Lots of confusion, commotion and concern from all the talk circulating. Let me put this to rest… the girls have not been in foster care and never will be.”
“The girls have been with me and will be until all this is sorted out.”
“Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your positive support,” the former wife of Elvis Presley added.
Speaking previously of raising her family Lisa Marie mused: “My parenting style is interesting. I’m very much a strong and intense lioness mother. Very scary, intense lioness mother,” she explained on Oprah’s Where Are They Now in 2014.
The singer has two other children with her ex-husband Danny Keough, daughter Riley Keough, 27, and son Benjamin Keough, 25.
Priscilla’s update comes amid the heartbreaking news their father Michael Lockwood, 55, is being investigated for claims of child abuse and neglect.
Last week, the girls were reportedly taken away from their parents after “pictures and disturbing videos” of children were allegedly found on what Lisa Marie claims is her estranged husband’s computer, according to court documents obtained by the Daily Mail.
49-year-old Lisa said she was “shocked and horrified and sick to my stomach,” in court papers filed as part of her ongoing divorce from her husband.
She added: “I have no idea what else may be on those devices and fear that there are more and worse images and evidence in these un-analysed devices.”
The images were found after authorities executed a search warrant on the singer-songwriter’s home, collecting 80 of Michael’s devices during the raid.
TMZ report that it was Lisa Marie – the only child of Elvis Presley – who tipped the police off about the disturbing content.
The pair, who married in Kyoto, Japan in 2006, began divorce proceedings last June.
