Prince George’s all-time favourite cartoon character is set to explore our land of sweeping plains in My First Cinema Experience: Peppa’s Australian Holiday – a 60-minute cinema special due for release in March next year, with four follow-up TV episodes to be rolled out in the following months.
Peppa and her little brother George, along with Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig, will embark on the Australian adventure of a lifetime, where they’ll visit the Great Barrier Reef, explore Uluru, learn to surf, and meet with local kangaroos, wallabies and koalas.
“They also go to the beach, learn to throw a boomerang, explore our amazing coral,” Trish Padoin, managing director of Entertainment One Licensing Australia said of the cartoon masterpiece, which will include sing-alongs and dance-athons.
“It’s part of the new seventh season of Peppa Pig, which was very much needed and wanted.”
Tourism Australia’s managing director, John O’Sullivan, says his company and the product it promotes – Australia – were honoured to be featured in such a spectacular.
“Our impossibly cute kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, wombats, echidnas and quokkas already do a wonderful job of luring international travellers, but we’re delighted to receive a bit of additional animal advocacy from Peppa Pig and her family,” he says.
“Looking at where they’ve been and what they’ve got up to, they’ve clearly had a ball and we look forward to their Australian holiday experiences helping to inspire a whole new generation to follow in their steps.”
Peppa Pig has been a favourite among young families for 12 years. The daytime programme is screened in 180 countries, and the upcoming Aussie installments will be aired across Asia, the US, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Italy, Greece, Spain and Germany.
