“If you’d had said to me ten years ago I’d be sitting on your show married to the man I love and have two beautiful children, I would have said you put acid in my drink,” Elton told Ellen.

Continuing, “Life throws you challenges and life throws you curve balls and great curve balls and these two children have come along at a time I never thought I’d have children.”

“They are the greatest thing in our lives,” he admitted.

The British superstar, who is married to his partner of 11 years David Furnish, couldn’t believe how happy and lucky he is.

It’s been a few months of celebrations for Furnish-John clan.

Zachary turned five on Christmas Day and Elijah was three on 11 January. The parents took their sons to Disneyland for the first time in December, followed by a ski trip in January.

“It’s amazing how young kids love skiing, because they’re so close to the ground. It’s a bit like Danny DeVito skiing I suppose,” he joked. “But they love it.”

The holiday season has been jammed packed for Furnish-John family with a trip to Disneyland and a skiing holiday.

The 68-year-old singer explained to Ellen how he ended up in a wheelchair during his visit at Disneyland.

“I sprained my ankle just as were leaving, which was kind of great because no one recognised who I was,” he mused.

“It was the first time Zachary and Elijah had been and they went on a lot of things including the teacups, which I hate. Zachary was just laughing his head off.”

Elton loves being a hands-on dad.

With such a musical dad, it will come to no surprise that the young boys have taken a liking to music, singing along to Elton’s classic hits including Rocket Man, Don’t Go Breaking My Heart and Bennie and the Jets.

But this diva dad is not going to put any pressure on his kids.

“I’m not going to push them in any direction whatsoever. They’re just little kids at the moment.”

The famed musician is releasing his 33rd album Wonderful Crazy Night next month.

“They’re not that keen on what I do,” he laughed. “They’re kind of more interested in their Lego which is fine by me.”
