As the saying goes: you don’t know what it’s like being a mum until you are one.
And now, former Married At First Sight star Zoe Hendrix has spoken candidly about both the joys and struggles of motherhood.
She and her reality-TV hubby Alex Garner met on the controversial reality show in its first season in 2015, and were a rare success of the program. Not only have they stayed together, but they also welcomed a child – their daughter Harper-Rose – into the world in November last year.
Zoe took to Instagram on Thursday, February 16 to discuss some of the challenges she’s faced since becoming a mum, confessing that parenting sometimes leaves her feeling like a “complete and utter failure”.
In her heartfelt post, Zoe shared a photo of herself breastfeeding Harper-Rose in her cot, and wrote that sometimes she feels like she wants to curl up in a ball and sleep for days on end.
“Some days I daydream about what life was like before motherhood and I wonder whether I was truly ready,” she added.
“I know I’ll look back at these precious days with this precious girl and wish I was back in the cot with her in my arms like I am tonight.”
“The happiest and most challenging 12 weeks of my life. That my friends is my truth,” Zoe concluded.
In June 2015, the couple suffered a heartbreaking miscarriage, before they were blessed with their gorgeous baby girl Harper-Rose last year.
