Turia Pitt may be many things – author, motivational speaker, philanthropist, elite athlete.
But it’s the beloved Aussie’s role as a mother to her two boys that brings her the most joy.
In February this year, the 33-year-old welcomed her second son, Rahiti, with fiance Michael Hoskin, and she’s been sure to keep fans updated as she navigates her way through the newborn bubble with a toddler in tow.
Rahiti, which means sunrise, already has a proud big brother in two-year-old Hakavai, with Turia regularly sharing heart-warming snaps on Instagram of the brothers bonding.
Opening up about her perfect bundle, Turia says she couldn’t be more grateful to have two healthy sons – but that’s not to say it hasn’t come without its challenges.
“I’m overjoyed, delirious, sleep deprived and extremely emotional,” Turia confessed on Instagram shortly after her second child’s arrival.
“Sometimes my mind will race ahead of me – I need to get the washing in, send that email, get Hakavai’s stuff ready for pre-school. I worry about how I’ll sleep tonight, and what tomorrow will be like if I don’t get enough (who am I kidding? Of course I won’t get enough). It’s exhausting,” she said.
“So, what do I do about it? I remind myself to stay in the moment. In THIS moment. I try not to get too caught up in the future, and all the things that need doing, and focus on what is happening right here and right now.”
With her incredibly refreshing outlook on motherhood and upbeat attitude towards life, it’s easy to forget the hardships Turia has been through.
Despite her horrific brush with death back in 2011, which saw her suffer burns to 65 per cent of her body, lose several fingers and spend a gruelling five months in hospital after she was trapped in a grassfire during a 100 kilometre ultra-marathon in the Kimberleys, Turia has one of the most optimistic attitudes you’ll ever come across.
Not only is she an incredible role model for the next generation of children around the world, we have no doubt she’ll be raising two incredible boys.

Dad’s mini-me!
“These guys are literal twins. I mean, well, I guess not ‘literal’ twins because they are father and son, but you get my point, they look alike. I guess because they’re related. Father and son, like I mentioned. But very similar! Like twins,” Turia quipped next to this adorable shot of Rahiti and Michael.
“Me and Michael. Oh, wait, that’s Rahiti 👯,” the author joked of her bub and his uncanny resemblance to his dad.
Look at these two! Now eight months old, little Rahiti is growing up before our eyes.
Gang’s all here: Turia, older son Hakavai, two, Rahiti, eight months and Michael.
The motivational speaker enjoys a family day out with her boys.
“Daily mood boosters. All day, every day,” the Happy (and Other Ridiculous Aspirations) author has said of her sons.
“I really enjoyed giving birth to Rahiti. It made me feel empowered,” the 33-year-old told The Australian Women’s Weekly of her labour.
Turia’s latest post of a sleeping Rahiti in dad Michael’s arms is exactly what the world needs right now.
“Only took us two months to get a family pic! A snapshot of pre-quarantine life 💛💛 Happy Easter y’all #stayhome,” Turia penned alongside this gorgeous family photo.
“No, no, no, you guys just relax. I’ll take the bins out. It’s fine.”
“I took 46 photos that look exactly like this. I’m not saying I’m Anne Geddes, but I’m not NOT saying it either.” We think you nailed it, Turia.
The motivational speaker and author announced her second pregnancy in August last year.
The 32-year-old welcomed her second son, Rahiti, with her fiance Michael Hoskin at the start of February.
And it’s fair to say, he’s nothing short of beautiful.
Snug as a bug! “Ah neonatals. They truly are the most unique and divine creatures. I’m overjoyed, delirious, sleep deprived and extremely emotional,” Turia mused of her baby boy.
Boys’ club: Proud dad Michael cuddles up to eldest son, Hakavai, two, and Rahiti.
“The serene smile of a mother whose newborn will only sleep in her arms or in a car.” Ahh, you can always count on Turia for keeping it real.
Baby or cuddly koala? Little Rahiti loves hugs with mum.
Brothers in arms: Hakavai makes for the ultimate doting big brother.
The ultra-marathon that changed Turia Pitt’s life
Turia says she couldn’t be more “grateful” for the safe arrival of her second son.
Turia’s world was turned upside down in 2011 when she suffered burns to 65 per cent of her body, after she was trapped by a grassfire during an ultramarathon in the Kimberley.
Her story has since captivated Australia and the world.
We can’t wait to watch Rahiti grow up.
