Former Home and Away star Tammin Sursok has called for more comradery between struggling mothers following a disheartening encounter with another mum at a playground.

The actress, who lives in Tennessee with her husband Sean McEwan and their two daughters, said dealing with unsympathetic mums has been an unexpected challenge of motherhood.

“Today we went to a playground and Lennon was wanting to get on a slide that someone else’s kid was on. The mom gave me a massive eye roll and I thought, really? Aren’t we in this together?” Tammin wrote in a raw post on Instagram.

“Don’t pretend to me that you haven’t had to drag your kid out of somewhere or that you haven’t cried in the car not wanting your kids to see.

“Or that you haven’t poured a large glass of wine at the end of a rough day just so you could feel your breath come back into your chest.”

The Pretty Little Liars star called on other mums to have patience and empathy for struggling parents.

“If you see a mum with a screaming toddler please give her a sympathetic smile or even try and crack a joke. It means more than you know,” she said.

Tammin admitted that while becoming a mother is “hands down” the best decision she’s ever made, it’s also been the hardest time of her life.

“It’s tried and tested me daily, it’s made me look at my shortcomings and search for tools on how to be better. It’s taught me to have grace and also broken me at times. It’s messy, magical and maddening. All at the same time,” she said.

The mother-of-two went on to reveal that raising three-year-old Lennon Bleu is “another level” of stress.

“The tantrums are soul destroying and I patiently sit and watch knowing she’s trying to make sense of the world,” Tammin shared.

“I love her and guide her and give her boundaries, but man sometimes I want to sit in my closet with wine and chocolate. 🥴”
