He’s the nation’s ultimate underdog, having come runner-up in both Australian Idol back in 2003 and I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2018.
Since finding fame on Australian Idol all those years ago, Shannon Noll has become the country’s spirit animal.
Between releasing five albums, two of which went multi-platinum, the 44-year-old has found himself at the centre of several high-profile scandals (remember that “Shooey for Shanno” viral video?) that somehow continue to endear him to the nation.
But behind the scenes of his successful music career and well-documented wild side, Shannon is a devoted husband to his wife of 15 years, Rochelle, and an adoring father to four children, sons Cody, 19 and Blake, 18, daughter Sienna, 14, and the newest member of the Noll family, one-year-old son Colton Keith Noll.
At the time, Nollsie’s bombshell baby news initially shocked fans. With the couple in their early 40s and their three children in their teens, no one expected they’d add to their brood!
Shannon admits Colton was a surprise and conceived after starring on I’m A Celeb, but the couple had previously tried for a fourth child several years earlier.
“I put it down to the detox in the jungle! I was totally detoxing and there wasn’t a lot of privacy, if you get my drift. This all happened around Easter, which was only 10 or 15 days after I got back from the jungle. I think the show is the reason we got pregnant,” he told New Idea at the time.
Adding: “We had tried for another baby after Sienna, but nothing happened so we just thought that was it for us.”
But Shannon says a fourth chance at fatherhood has been a total blessing and he’s made a conscious effort to be more present and involved this time around.
“This time I have to work smarter not harder, because I don’t want to miss out on seeing my boy grow up as I felt I missed out on my other kids growing up before,” he explained to New Idea shortly after Colton’s arrival in December 2018.
“The fourth time round I feel like a grandparent – it’s been a while,” he joked.
All jokes aside, it’s clear Shannon treasures his youngest son and the pair’s touching escapades are well documented on social media.
