It seems like only yesterday when Michelle Bridges and Steve ‘Commando’ Willis welcomed their son Axel to the world. Can you believe he’s three years-old already?
In a sweet Instagram post to mark her son’s special day, the former Biggest Loser trainer shared several snaps of her little boy over the years.
“Happy Birthday my darling Axel 💙 thank you for coming into our world 3years ago, for choosing us as your family,” she began her post.
And doesn’t Axel look like his dad?

Michelle went on to say, “You are the most magical spirit , the most beautiful loving human I’ve ever met. I fell in love with you before we met, from the moment I held you my heart soared, the love you have taught me is beyond expression…we are forever grateful of all the joy, love and wisdom you bring to us and all you meet. You are my forever and beyond…..🙏🏼❤️💋😍”
Axel was born in December 2015 and Michelle admitted that she assumed for a long time that she would never have children, because she put her career first.
“When Axel came into my world, it took me to a whole new place. There’s been many a time when I’ll just start talking about Axel and just burst into tears,” she confessed to 60 Minutes in 2017.
Michelle introduced her first child in an exclusive interview and photoshoot with The Australian Women’s Weekly
“I’ve got this mother instinct that people always talk about,” she said at the time. “It’s quite fierce and protective.”
Judging by the pictures, he is most definitely a mummy’s boy!

Proud dad Steve Willis, known as The Commando, also took to Instagram to mark his cheeky toddler’s birthday.
“Happy Birthday to my little Crackle – Axel,” the doting dad captioned a snap of the birthday boy looking very cool in his T-shirt and hat.
Axel is Steve’s youngest and only child with Michelle, the former Survivor contestant shares three older children Brianna, 19, Ella, 10, and seven-year-old Jack with his previous partner.

Michelle recently shared a video on her Instagram stories of Axel tearing down a driveway hill on his bike (perhaps a birthday present?), captioning it ‘Heart in mouth.’ You can watch the clip in the player above.
Birthdays in the Bridges/Willis household are a happy but healthy affair. For Axel’s first birthday, proud mum Michelle baked a carrot cake but had to go to some extreme lengths when something unhealthy got into his hands.
“I did have to wrestle Axel to the ground when he was given a cookie that my babysitter made that had little lollies on it,” she said during an interview with The Daily Edition.
“She was like ‘Can I?” and I was “OK” and I literally had to wrestle him to the ground to get half of it off him.”

With two parents dedicated to health and fitness, it’s no wonder Axel is a chip off the old block! In fact, he started getting into the swing of things from an early age.
“My little one, Axel, is two and he picks up the empty clingfilm cardboard roll and pretends it’s a barbell and he’ll do squats and burpees as well,” Commando Steve told BW Magazine.
