Lisa Curry has shared a beautiful update with her followers on Instagram following the tragic death of her daughter Jaimi earlier this month.
The 58-year-old laid her daughter to rest alongside her family last week, with the former professional swimmer sharing several heartbreaking posts about her loss.
But this week, it looks as though she is beginning to turn a new leaf in the grieving process, and she’s got a very special mate by her side as she does so.
Sharing a beautiful picture of herself on the beach with her dog Mali, Lisa wrote: “Just ‘pawsing’ for a moment to take in some joy. Mali’s first time at the beach…. being a farm dog this was all new to her.”
Lisa looked radiant in a pair of denim dungarees and a billowing white linen shirt as she smiled for the camera alongside her pup.
Lisa’s friends and followers took to the post to share their love for her, and Chezzi Denyer lead the pack with a series of emojis: “❤️ 🌈 🙏.”
“Wonderful to see you and pooch experiencing some joy, a brief escape from grief. Oh and I love those overalls!!!” another friend wrote.
Another added: “So lovely to see you smiling. How good are dogs. Mali is just what you need right now. Take care beautiful girl.”
The Kennys have had an emotional few weeks since their first announcement about 33-year-old Jaimi.
In a heartbreaking statement, Lisa’s husband Grant confirmed the news about his daughter on September 14.
“It is with a very heavy heart that Lisa and I confirm that our beautiful daughter Jaimi has lost her battle with a long-term illness and passed away peacefully in hospital this morning in the company of loving family,” he said in a statement.
He added: “Jaimi will forever be remembered as a caring, bright and loving soul who always put others before herself.”
His words were met with shock and deep sadness.
While the grieving process is in no way straightforward, and there is a road ahead that will be filled with ebbs, flows, ups and downs, it’s heartwarming to see Lisa surrounded by so much love – especially starting with her pup Mali.
Our thoughts continue to be with the family at this difficult time.
